Corrections, topic requests, and questions
Everything on this site is reachable at one address: hello@whatgearfits.com. There is no contact form — email gets a faster and more useful answer.
Reporting an error or an outdated chart
This is the most valuable message we receive, and it goes to the front of the queue. Manufacturers revise size charts, leagues change equipment rules mid-season, and certification standards get updated — any of which can leave a page here out of date.
To make a correction actionable, include the page URL, the specific figure or claim you think is wrong, and where the correct information comes from if you have it. A link to the manufacturer's current chart or the league's published rule is ideal, because it lets the correction be verified and cited rather than simply swapped.
Confirmed corrections are applied to the page along with an updated review date. Our editorial policy explains how sources are prioritized when two of them disagree.
Requesting a sizing topic
If there is a piece of gear you could not find good sizing information for, tell us. The most useful requests include the sport, the specific equipment, and the age or division your child plays in — those three things determine whether a topic can be answered usefully or whether it needs to be split into several pages.
Requests that name a specific frustration tend to become the best pages. “Nothing explains what to measure for wrestling headgear” is more actionable than “please cover wrestling.”
What we cannot do
We cannot tell you what size to buy for your individual child. Sizing depends on the exact brand and model, the measurement taken, sock or padding thickness, and how the gear fits in person — and for protective equipment, a wrong answer given remotely carries real risk. What we can do is point you to the right measurement, the right chart, and the right fit checks.
We also cannot help with orders, returns, warranties, or defective products. We do not sell anything. If you bought something through a link on this site, the retailer handles the transaction and their customer service is the right contact.
For protective gear in particular, please use a coach, equipment manager, or certified fitter for the final decision. That advice is in the safety disclaimer and it is not a formality.
Response times
WhatGearFits is run by one person alongside other work, so replies are not instant. Expect a few days for most messages, and longer during evenings and weekends when youth sports schedules are busiest.
Corrections are read and acted on even when they do not get a long reply — if you send a documented fix, it will be applied whether or not there is time to write back properly.
Affiliate, advertising, and partnership enquiries
Some links on this site are affiliate links, and the site carries advertising. Both are disclosed on the affiliate disclosure page, and neither affects sizing guidance.
We do not accept paid placements in sizing guides, sponsored rankings, or paid links inside editorial content, so pitches of that kind will be declined. Manufacturers who want to correct how their sizing is represented here are very welcome to get in touch — that is a correction, not a placement, and it is handled as one.
